The first meeting of ITU-T Focus Group on Testbeds Federations for IMT-2020 and beyond (FG-TBFxG) was virtually held from the 4th and the 7th April 2022.

The Fed4FIRE+ partners imec and Mandat International actively participated in the different discussions concerning the federations of testbeds. imec presented the Fed4FIRE+ testbed federation, the experience and the technical expertise gained with the APIs and finally, the lessons learned. Mandat International introduced the Recommendation ITU-T Q.4068 “Open application program interfaces (APIs) for interoperable testbed federations” which was elaborated by the Fed4FIRE+ project.

Different Working Groups (WGs) were arranged during the remote meeting and adequate deliverables were defined. The first WG will be dedicated to use cases, applications and industry demand and business models in the context of testbeds federations. The second WG, led by Mandat International, will work on the concept of Testbeds as a Service (TaaS). The third WG will address the different APIs and the reference model instantiations.

The next FG-TBFxG meeting is scheduled for July and will be fully virtual. You can find more information at: https://www.itu.int/en/ITU-T/focusgroups/tbfxg/Pages/default.aspx
