The TIGER experiment aims at benchmarking one of industry’s first IoT board equipped with rich 5G radio capabilities, using the TRIANGLE testbed. The project is carried out by INSIGHIO, a start-up founded in 2021 by technology experts with years of professional and R&D experience, aspiring to disrupt IoT adoption. With this project, INSIGHIO brings to Fed4Fire+ a new in-house designed prototype which enhances the current product line with 5G connectivity, showcasing remarkable technology and business exploitation potential.
The newly designed board aspires to be a fully integrated 5G solution accompanied with expandable open-source software and lean device management and data visualization platform, suited for building customized industrial IoT applications with reduced costs and complexity. We came to Fed4Fire+ for its unique open and flexible experimentation offering, including the TRIANGLE testbed, a facility that supports systematic 5G Devices and Applications benchmarking services, through a real-world private 5G cell and optionally an emulated network, along with a set of generic experiment configuration, execution and analysis tools. The facility will be used for validating, evaluating and demonstrating the capabilities of the company’s new 5G-IoT product under development, improving the final design and making a significant step towards market launch planned for 2022.
