CAFA Tech is developing autonomousdriving function for CAFA RAM wheeled robot. RAM wheeled robots can now be controlled remotely. The next step of the RAMrobot development process is to provide autonomous driving and working.
For autonomous driving and working RAM robot must know the exact location and information about humans around a robot. Indoor positioning needs advanced Computer Vision solutions and GPU based high-performance computing in near real-time. The alternatives (UWB based beacons, RFID-s etc.) does not provide information about humans and activities around a robot. Therefore, CAFA Tech intends to perform Computer Vision solution tests to identify robot indoor locations using GPU based high-performance solutions .
The localisation is based on a comparison between previous photos and markers and real-time camera pictures.
