SUMMARY REMARKS & TESTBEDS
5G-VTWIN aims at experimenting and validating an innovative 5G automotive vertical system designed as a road-side ADAS. The 5G-VTWIN exploits road-side traffic cameras and 5G edge processing to create a digital representation of the scene, known as digital twin. Vehicle twins are used to simulate drivers’ behaviours in a fully virtual environment to predict hazardous conditions. Through virtual scene analytics, 5G-VTWIN generates notifications to be forwarded to the physical drivers about their driving operations, aiming at improving safety conditions, correctness of driving operations, and ecological driving behaviours. The Fed4Fire+ project represents a unique and extremely attractive opportunity for Sma-RTy to experiment the 5G-VTWIN system prototype under realistic 5G automotive scenarios. Throughout stage 1 and stage 2, the application experiment will enable further improvements in the system implementation and it will increase the visibility and the business impact of the 5G-VTWIN system.
