SLICES virtual workshop

SLICES (www.slices-ri.eu) is an ambitious initiative calling for a scientific instrument, a test platform to support the research in the domains related to future advanced networking and computing. SLICES aims to provide a European-wide test-platform, providing advanced compute, storage and network components. SLICES will be a flexible platform designed to support large-scale, experimental research focused on networking protocols, radio technologies, services, data collection, parallel and distributed computing and in particular cloud and edge-based computing architectures and services.

This will be the main experimental collaborative instrument for researchers at the European level, to explore and push further the envelope of future communication services and protocols. SLICES is the first initiative to specifically address the experimental need of our community in Europe, even in the domain of digital sciences in general.

SLICES is organizing a workshop on March 3-4 2021 (virtual) in order to discuss and address 4 topics/sessions:

  • Scientific challenges
  • Socio-industrial perspectives
  • International scientific instruments in digital infrastructures
  • European perspectives
